The Bible: Introduction

The Bible is a book inspired by God. God reveals Himself to mankind through the Bible. Its revelation is so unique. The Bible is a 
body of prophesy that is completely accurate where all others failed. And history bears record of this.
For example, one of the most remarkable prophesy in the bible could be found in the book of Daniel. In Daniel chapter 9 vs. 25, it was revealed that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there shall be seven weeks and sixty- two weeks. Each week is 7 years, using the ancient calendar of 360 days to a year. What this says is that there will be a 173,880 days from the commandment to the time the messiah is cut off.
This actual prophecy was indeed fulfilled when on March 14th, 445 BC, the command to rebuild and restore Jerusalem was given according to Nehemiah chapter 2 vs 5 - 18. Now Jesus triumphal entry occurred on April 6th, 32 AD. The time difference is exactly 173,880 days as was prophesied. This prophecy is an incredible proof that the Bible is accurate and all other prophecies made by this book will be certainly be fulfilled.
The Bible also made a record number of other predictions of a time of peace when the messiah Jesus Christ will rule over the world. He will remove all curses that have been placed upon mankind and return the world to its former state before sin entered.
This is going to be a period of one thousand years when there will be no sickness, poverty and war. Everybody on the face of the earth will experience justice and equity.
This 1000 years of peace will be preceded by a holocaust on earth. The Bible predicted that series of events that will begin to come together just before the holocaust. Israel becoming a Nation
Israel is the key to prophesy in the bible. God warned them that if they forsake His word, they would be dispersed throughout the world. And this took place. The amazing thing is that despite the fact that they’ve been scattered throughout the world for over 2000 years, they were able to maintain their national identity. No nation on earth has ever gone through such kind of experience. God did not only promised to keep the national identity of the Jews while dispersed among nations of the earth, but to also gather them back to their homeland in the last days. In 1948, the remarkable prophecy found in the books of Ezekiel 36 – 39 became fulfilled. Miraculously the Jews were restored to the land of Canaan, which God gave to Abraham and his descendent according to the book of Genesis 12. The children of Israel who have been dispersed around the world for about 2000 years have now regain their status as a nation. In Deuteronomy 28, Moses predicted that the children of Israel will be dispersed twice and the second dispersion will cover the whole world.
The rebirth of Israel is one of the greatest prophetic fulfilments in the history of the world. This was a divine destiny of God being fulfilled. Every major Old Testament prophet spoke on this prophecy. These prophecies specifically points out that God will bring the descendant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob back to Israel during the period just before the second coming of Jesus Christ. It is amazing that Jesus quite pointed out in Matthew 24 that the generation of human beings that will see Israel coming back together will witness Christ second coming to establish his millennial reign on earth.

Political Climate around Israel
At about this time of Israel reastablishing herself as a nation, the Arab world is also uniting with the sole goal of destroying the nation of Israel. And this has been happening since the 1960s. According to Daniels chapter 11, Egypt and Syria will lead the Arab confederacy of the last days in war against Israel.
There is also the northern power that will be toward the north of Israel. The Soviet Union is the fulfilment of this. The Soviet Union has always been a great military superpower. Despite the fall of the Soviet Union, Russia is still very powerful militarily. And it is unfortunate that the world is brushing this aside. Even though Russia has allowed nations of Eastern Europe to gain freedom from the former Soviet Union because of Russia’s economic problem, yet they have not destroyed their great military arsenals. They will eventually attack Israel in the Middle East along with the Arabs.
There will be another sphere of power in the orient. China remains a distinct dangerous power. The Bible predicts that the kings in the East will move with 200 million soldiers into the war that will start in the Middle East (Revelation 16 verse 12, 9 verses 16 & 17).
The last form of political sphere is the revived Roman Empire from the West. The sphere will be dominant one for a short while. Out of the ruins of this Roman culture will rise a leader who will subdivide the whole world into ten different. These regions will be dominated by ten different kings who will embrace this world leader. Europe will quickly become the miracle power of the world.
Anti- Semitism
The Bible says in Jeremiah 29 vs. 18 that the Jews will experience opposition in all parts of the world. Israel is presently standing alone. No other set of race, tribe of humans has ever being persecuted and hated like the Jews. In the holocaust, about 6 million Jews perished in Europe. In 1967, Israel fought the Arabs for its survival. The Palestine Liberation Organisation continues to fight, maimed and kill the Jews. God has assured the Jews that he will preserve them as an identified national group of people even if hundreds of Hitlers makes attempts to wipe them out. Click here to go to the top bullet point.
Israel’s Fruitfulness
The bible also prophesies in Isaiah 27 vs 6 that Israel shall blossom and bud. Until the last 60 to 70 years, this prophecy seems impossible for fulfilment. The nation of Israel was a complete wilderness. But now she has become the third largest exporter of fruit in the world. The land that has been so barren is now fruitful. Israel now sells flowers to countries like Holland. According to Central Bureau of Statistics, Israel has significantly increased irrigation in her land. From Space, the once desolate Israel is now filled with vegetation.
The Temple
The Bible says that the antichrist will defile the temple II Thessalonians 2 vs 4. This is no other temple than the third one that the Jews will rebuild. This temple will be rebuilt in Jerusalem (Revelation 11 vs 1). Presently, some group of Jews have formed themselves in order to plan the rebuilding of their temple. These groups are making the instrument to be used in the temple for the sacrifices. The temple institute has fabricated 63 out of 130 of these instruments to be used. Also several hundreds of young men have volunteered themselves to serve as priest in the third temple. False Religious System
According to I Timothy 4 vs 1, there will be false religious systems and practices just before Christ returns to the earth. In the last couple of decades, Eastern religious ideals have poured into the Western culture. The result is that the new age religion is now setting the cornerstone for the coming one world religious system under the anti-Christ. The new age has its belief rooted in ancient tradition of Babylon. The new age religious system seeks common ground for Catholicism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and some protestant churches. The new age religion can take all religious beliefs under its umbrella. And it is presently doing that. The goal is to establish a one-world religion. Under this is the resurgence of Satanism and the occult that has never been seen in the world. It is at this stage that majority of people will no longer pay heed to sound doctrines according to II Timothy 4 vs 3.
The coming one world religion is going to be a religion of the mother earth. The earth itself will eventually become the object of veneration or worship. The world will come together for one reason, and this is to save the earth. Historically those who refuse to worship the true God have always worship the creations such as the Stars, Sun, Moon or the Earth known as GAIA in Greek (this is Greek mythology goddess of the earth and mother of Cronus and the Titans in ancient mythology). It is the nature of man to venerate the creation or creature rather than God (Romans 1 vs 25)
The coming one world religion is not going to be a set of belief. But it is going to be an organisation in which all beliefs will be tolerated with the exception of those who believed in the Bible.
Christianity is the only belief presently in the world today that is a deterrent to the advancement of the world religion. Christianity advocates the worship of God rather than creation.
Wars and Rumours of wars
The twentieth century has been the bloodiest and most barbaric in the history of mankind. More than a hundred million have been 
murdered. The twentieth century witnessed total war being waged in both the first and second world wars. Since world war two, more and more wars have been fought in a world that was supposed to be peaceful. Deaths resulting from war since the end of world war two have now topped more than 20 million.
In November 1989, the fall of the Berlin wall signalled the end of cold war between the super powers. But rather than experience a lasting peace, there have been more wars and rumours of wars. Between 1992 and 1994, there were more than 30 major wars. There were racial, tribal and ethnic wars. The prophecy which says that kingdoms shall rise against kingdoms (Matthew 24 vs. 7) was fulfilled in former Yugoslavia, Rwanda and other places on the earth
With the development of nuclear, chemical and Biological weapons, mankind has developed the capability of inflicting suffering unparallel in human history. The advent of the atomic bomb has kept mankind under the shadow of nuclear holocaust, which could destroy life from planet earth.
The arm race continues in the world. Despite recent economic meltdown, Russia still has the nuclear capabilities to destroy the whole world within one hour. Russia has over thirty thousand thermal nuclear weapon with the ability to deliver them. The Russian’s typhoon class submarine carries sufficient warheads to destroy hundreds of cities. There are about 120 of these submarines in the arsenal of Russia. This country undoubtedly has a hidden agenda behind all these incredible arms build up. The Bible according to the book of Ezekiel chapter 38 says that the nation of Magog will eventually invade the middle east.
Other nations keeps on building this doomsday weapons as well. A 4-megaton warhead can ionise a substantial part of London. Presently there are nuclear weapon that are 25 megaton and much more powerful. The Bible perfectly predicted in the book of Zechariah 14 vs 12 that the nuclear weapon will be used in the wars that will precede Christ coming back to earth. Earthquakes
Over the past few decades, earthquakes have been released at alarming rates. It is true that there have always been earthquakes in the past, but in the last few years, the earth has witnessed a great increase in earthquake with great magnitude.
Jesus Christ specifically mentioned in the book of Matthew chapter 24 that earthquakes will increase in numbers and intensity prior to the seven year Great Tribulation. In the past forty years, there have been many major earthquakes as in the entire previous two thousand years. Over this period of time, earthquakes have claimed the lives of more than 1.3 million people around the world. From 1890 to 1900, there was only one earthquake whose magnitude is 6.0 or greater on the ritcher’s scale. From 1910 to 1930, there were just three killer earthquakes. And from 1930 to 1940, there were five killer quakes. About thirteen killer earthquakes were experienced from 1940 to 1970. Fifty-six were recorded from 1970 to 1980. From 1980 to 1990, there were about three hundred and ten. Incredibly, over seven hundred killer earthquakes were recorded just between 1990 and 1995. In 1994, an earthquake measuring 6.6 on the Ritcher scale caused many billions of dollars damage to Los Angeles, California. In 1995, over five thousand people were killed and twenty six thousand injured in the great Karanchi quake in Japan. About three hundred thousand people were made homeless.

Famines
The age of terrible famines started in the 1970s. Tremendous famines continue to befall different areas of the world. The World Health 
Organisation estimated that one third of the world’s population is well fed; one third is underfed and one third is starving. About 3 – 5 million dies of starvation every year. And yet many developed countries can produce abundance of food to feed the starving. Famine is mainly caused by man’s selfishness and greed. Wars, embargoes and government corruption among others are reasons for famines in some nations. The 1990 Gulf war costs the allied forces more than 400 million dollars a day. Enough money to feed the starving in the third world countries. In the nineteen nineties, more 100 million children died from all kinds of illnesses and starvation. Changes in Environment
There have been increases in the number of volcanic eruptions, tornadoes and floods in the past few decades. Over the past few years there have been significant changes in weather pattern. Several prophecies were made that indicates an increase in chaotic weather in 
the last days. The bible says the whole creation will groan and labour in birth pangs, eagerly awaiting redemption. This redemption will done when Jesus Christ returns to the earth. Just as a woman labour before birth, so will the creation labour and groan with increasing frequency. The book of Revelation chapter 8 vs 5, 7 shows the series of catastrophes that will befall earth in its final days.
In the 1994 December issue of an American magazine called Road Watch, it was noted in a collection of press reports compiled by the environmental group Greenpeace from six continents between 1990 and 1994 that there was a record of highest floods, longest droughts, severe wild fires and worst heat waves. Also this report shows that since the late eighties, hurricanes have struck the world with alarming frequency.
As the earth begins to warm up, terrible storms will develop throughout the world.
Also man’s selfishness has damaged the earth under the banner of progress and advancement. Man continues to ravish the environment without any consideration to generations to come. Through human present activities, thousands of species of animals, birds and fish are destroyed each year and possibly leading them into extinction. Man has really destroyed the earth. With the advent of the industrial revolution, this generation has polluted the earth than any previous generation. This trend began during our current generation.
Over the past couple of years, atmospheric carbon dioxide has increased significantly in the air as a result of the continual indiscriminate depletion of rain forest. The burning of fossil fuel is causing significant damage to the earth biosphere. It is no surprise that the past couple of decades have seen heat waves that were unknown in generation past.
The green house effect has also started. The depletion of the ozone layer in the sky now causes the earth to be exposed to the direct ultra violet radiation that causes the skin cancer called Melanoma. This is definitely preparing the world for something terrible to come. The Bible says in the book of Revelation chapter 16 vs. 11, that people will experience sores and pains during the Great Tribulation. Also a nuclear exchange in a thermonuclear war will result in the rapid depletion of the ozone layer. Without the ozone layer, there will be a continual global warming and the green house effect
Also there will continue to be strange signs in the atmosphere that will result in men’s heart failing them for fear at the terror of waves roaring

Diseases and Pestilences
In the 22 of May 1995 edition of an American magazine called Newsweek, it was reported there have emerged over eleven new life-threatening viruses in our present generation. The HIV virus that causes AIDS has currently infected over 10 million people worldwide. Harvard University scientist estimated that about 24 million people would have had AIDS by the year 2000.
There have been over a hundred different kinds of cancers that kill more than 4 million people every year. Depletion of the ozone layer(which shields the earth from the direct rays from the sun) has given rise to increase in skin cancer called Melanoma. There are other new strains of diseases. Toward the last decade of the twentieth century, some of the leading causes of deaths has been vaccine immune strains of Tuberculosis, cholera, Ebola, Bubonic plaque, meningitis, pneumonia, sexually transmitted diseases and other flesh eating bacterias. A lot of these diseases were thought to have been eliminated by antibiotic drugs. But a lot of them are now resistant to antibiotic treatment with no new medicine to stop the diseases The Bible said there will be an abundance of pestilences and diseases marking the time Jesus returns to the earth. One World Government and Unity
In 1995, hundreds of political, business and religious leaders joined together in San Francisco for the first State of the World Forum. Their mission statement is to build the world’s first global civilisation. Their plans included creating a common language, single currency and uniting and accepting all religions. Without any doubt, there seems to be a hidden agenda towards a global one-world government. Leaders in different countries are subverting their own national interest towards a dream. For the past decades, many government and leaders have been working behind the scene to achieve a goal of one world government. With the development of computers, satellites, Internets and others, the world is moving towards such goal of global unity. All these technologies will also usher in one world currency. The one world currency is eventually going to be used to maintain control over people from all the face of the earth.
There are also dreams of having nations in the world disarmed and turning their military might to a one-world government.
This drive toward a one-world government is indeed a rapid movement toward the fulfilment of Bible prophesy.
According to the bible in the last days, all of the world will unite under the antichrist (Revelation 13 vs 3,4). According to the bible, the antichrist through supernatural power will unite the world under him. He will be accepted by almost every nation on the face of the earth because of his peace plans. Religious Unity
The world is also heading towards a one-world religion. One world government and religion fit together. 1986, in Italy, Pope John Paul invited 130 religious leaders of major religions from all over the world to join together and pray for world peace. Present in this meetings were Hindus, Muslims, Buddhism, witch doctors, spiritist. The aim is to achieve unity between people of all faith. The bible also indicated the leadership of Rome in the one world religion of the last days (Revelation 17 vs 9). There is only one nation in the world that sits on the seven mountains. And this nation is Rome
Moral State of Mankind
In Matthew 24 vs 5, many proclaims they are Christ. For the past couple of years, there has been so many people worldwide just doing exactly this. There are many today within the new age who are claiming to messaiah or to be channelling the wisdom of the messaiah. It is terrible to see the lies that many will believe once they’ve rejected the truth. This is undoubtedly a sign of the last days. Click here to go to the top bullet point.
Satanism and Occult
There have been rise of satanism of the satanic cult. This satanic practice is reflected in music. And it is now invading the culture of the youths today. In our generation, it is not uncommon to see young people being involved in some strata of satanism. People are now fascinated to the occult because they do not have the truth of God in their heart. There have been explosions of fortune telling, hypnotisms, psychic and dungeons and dragons.
I Timothy 4 vs 1 says in latter times people will be listening to doctrines of devils.
Many schools and establishments have abandoned the authority of the bible and prayer and are now teachings courses in witchcraft. There are millions of witches and wizards all over the world. Many people have in one way or another allowed themselves to be influenced by one form of occult, demonology, spiritism and black magic or another. There has also been a sharp increase in the sale of occult books in the past few years. Many rock music glorifies the open worship of satan and hell. Unfortunately, millions of people have themselves entangled in this. The result of this is that many young people are driven into drugs, suicides and all kinds of sexual perversions.
Hardcore satanism is now pronounced among many teenagers. Witchcraft and the occult is one of the world fastest growing religions.
Interest in metaphysical and occult has also significantly increased in the past couple of years. Now a lot of people are embracing the new age eastern metaphysical point of view that God is everything you want it to be. They are turning to Yoga, hypnosis, out of body experience, meditation, channelling and communicating with spiritual beings and believe in crystal consciousness. All these that used to be considered as pagan in the past are now considered as the new way of spirituality that people should embrace. All these are no doubt fulfilments of I Timothy 4 vs 1.
Paul the apostle said that in the latter times, there will be doctrines of demons that will be propagated even in the name of Christianity. Many of these deceptions are happening in the name of Christianity as people are embracing a form of Christianity based on extra biblical experience. Click here to go to the top bullet point.
Abortion
The Bible also mentioned that towards the time of Christ return, the love of many shall become cold (Matt 24 vs 12). II Timothy 3 vs 1 –5, our generation has witnessed the explosion of pornography and dramatic increase in abortion. This generation is indeed giving to loving pleasure and not loving God. There have been increase in child prostitution. The moral breakdown in nations has been driven to a great extent as a result of assault on the family. Iniquity has certainly abounded in this mean and selfish generation. In countries such as Britain and America , it is estimated that about 50% of all marriages ends in divorce and one-fourth of children born are out of wed-lock. In Romans 1 vs 31 and II Timothy 3 vs 3, this generation is without natural affection. Abortion has grown beyond human comprehension. Every year millions of countless children are murdered in their mother’s womb. God decried this act in Jeremiah 2 vs 34. Abortion is billions of dollars industry worldwide every year. Research has shown that for every five births in the world, two are aborted. According to a reliable source called Planned Parenthood, about 50 millions abortions are carried out each year worldwide. This generation is slaughtering over 130,000 single baby everyday. This is indeed an unloving and brutal generation.Click here to go to the top bullet point.
Violence
Jesus Christ in Matthew 24 vs 37 says that just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be when Jesus Christ returns to the earth. In the times of Noah, the bible says that things were as bad then as it was now Genesis 6 vs 11. As we listen to our daily news, we know that this prophecy is literally being fulfilled in our very eyes.
The violence of this present generation is a lot greater than those of the days of Noah. In the past couple of years, there have been a dramatic increase in the number murders, rapes and kidnap. A recent studies shows that these crimes increases can be attributed to violent movies and films being shown on TV. Most Western countries embrace violence on screen. Children cartoons also show all kinds of despicable acts.
Many children also inundate their minds with fear by watching horror movie. And this is particularly common among the teenagers.
There is also the Rock music, which promotes violence and sex. Between the age 12 to 16, the average child within Western countries will watch over ten thousand hours of rock music. The result of this is that rock music has significantly increased violence among teenagers.
The books of Romans 1 vs 24 – 32; II Timothy 3 vs 1 – 6 gave the moral state of mankind towards the time Jesus Christ returns to the earth. This state has been brought about by secular humanistic media and other system. The Christian values, once embraced within the West is no longer the basis for right thinking. The withdrawal of the use of the Bible from schools such as those in America in the 1960s have led to children growing up without moral basis for their lives. Sodomy
Jesus Christ pointed out in Luke 17 vs 28, 30 that as it was in the days of Lot in the bible, so will it be when He returns to the earth. According to Genesis 13 vs 13¸ in the days of Lot, the men of the city of Sodom and Gomorrah were giving to sodomy or male homosexuality. In our generation, all kinds of pervasions and sensual pleasure are now tolerated. These sinfulness continues its downward spiral.
Sexual sins are one of the major causes of breakdown of a nation. And we can see that campaign for gay rights and the free sex movements are all contributory factors to moral meltdown. The abandonment of the preaching of the word of God without compromise will always result in a moral freefall.
According to the US news and World report, Americans spent $8 Billion on pornography in 1996 alone. Undoubtedly, our moral and social landscape shows the time of the end is certainly near. Click here to go to the top bullet point.
Intensification of Persecutions
Christians who give worship the one true God are considered as social misfits. In the 1990s, the persecutions of Christians in some part of the world resulted in millions being enslaved and massacred. Christians are continuously being harassed, tortured and executed. Technology in Travel and Increase in Knowledge
While there hasn’t been any major progress in the world for the past couple of centuries, within a short period of time, man now 
communicates at the speed of light and travels at the speed of sound. Technology has completely changed the culture of the world.
In the book of Daniel 12 verse 4, we are made to understand the vision given is not for Daniel’s generation but for the last generation of human beings that will witness the literal return of Jesus Christ to the earth.
Daniel the prophet did indicated that in the last days knowledge will increase and many will run to and fro. In fulfilment to the prophesy of Daniel, knowledge has certainly increased in this last generation beyond comprehension. Research studies have shown that the total store of human knowledge now double every eight years. Computer technology has developed tremendously over the last couple of decades..
Knowledge has certainly increased in this generation through computers and Internet.
Many are indeed running to and fro. For thousands of years peoples primary means of transportation didn’t change until recently when man developed technologically. Man can now travel in fast moving automobiles, fly around the world within few hours and even travel at the speed of sound. More and more people are travelling all around the world. An estimation of about 200 million people travels outside their country every year.
Also the prophet Nahum foretells that in the last days shortly before Jesus Christ returns that there will be technological advancement in transportation (Nahum 2 vs 3, 4). Cashless Society
The final method of making monetary transaction will not be with money but an electronic chip on either the forehead or right hand. With modern technology, not only is this cashless society possible, but the use of electronic means of monetary transaction is actually happening. This electronic technology can allow just one individual to control everyone on the face of the earth. The antichrist will control all banking and commerce with the technology of the mark of the beast (Revelation 13 vs

Image of the Beast
In the book of Revelations, the bible says the false prophet will set up the image of the beast in the temple. Once again, our generation have the technology to produce this type of talking robotic image. A whole science of robotic has developed rapidly in our age and generation. Revelation 13 vs 15 shows what the image of the beast will do. It is our generation that has seen development of human-like robots, bionics and genetic engineering. Nuclear Weapons
The technology to make the human flesh dissolves on exposure to atomic incineration has truly made the prophesy of Matthew 24 vs 21,22 to become a reality. This passage states that if it were possible no flesh will be able to survive. To past generations it would have been incomprehensible that there could be a warefare that could literally annihilate everybody on earth all at once
It is our generation that have seen the development of a technology to wipe out the entire world just in a matter of hours. Our generation have caught up with this technology. Now all nations presently on earth lives under the shadow of nuclear warfare. It is amazing that the book of Zechariah 14 vs. 12 clearly documented that the nuclear weapon will play a major part in the wars that will take place at the time Christ returns to the earth. This book of the bible undeniably shows that there is an impending nuclear exchange within the Middle East. It is just a matter of time.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ will be among all nations
It is this present generation that witness the spread of the gospel to the uttermost part of the world as Jesus Christ rightly indicated in
